Since I started my career in sales, I’ve often used this analogy:
Who are you in the sales jungle — the Alligator or the Bear?
This all comes down to mindset.
The ALLIGATOR eats once a day, fully satisfied and content with his achievements. He’s happy, focused, and at peace with what he has accomplished.
The BEAR, on the other hand, is always craving — constantly hunting for the next meal. Even when he seems satisfied, there’s always room for more. He never stops: always pushing, always chasing.
In many ways, this mirrors the mindset in sales:
Are you like the Alligator, appreciating your wins, pacing yourself, and finding fulfillment in your achievements?
Or are you like the Bear, relentlessly pursuing more — driven by an insatiable hunger for growth, results, and success?
There’s no right or wrong — just different approaches.
